In 2024, in collaboration with Kadimah Yiddish Theatre, Monstrous Theatre, and Neil Gooding Productions, Shalom Collective presented a 5-week run of the pioneering stage production of Yentl at the Sydney Opera House.

This adaptation paid homage to the feminist and queer layers within the original story, inviting audiences to delve into the intersections of religion, gender, sexuality, and Yiddish culture.
The production won four Green Room Awards, including accolades for outstanding writing and performance; solidifying its impact on contemporary Jewish and Australian theatre as well as nominated for six Sydney Theatre Awards.

Supported by Shalom Collective, Moira Blumenthal Productions presents an annual professional stage production that brings universal stories of Jewish life to Sydney audiences. Each show reflects the rich history, cultural vibrancy, and complex identity of the Jewish experience, employing theatre as a powerful means of connection and reflection.

Supported by Shalom Collective, Matzah! Productions produces the Jewish Comedy Showcase at the annual Sydney Comedy Festival.

Shalom Collective hosts workshops and special events year-round, nurturing the talents and skills of local artists. These programs enable emerging and established creatives to deepen their craft, share their work, and connect with audiences across Sydney.

We support local artists through our Shalom Collective Australian Jewish Artist Micro Grant, providing up to $400 per person per year to help bring creative projects to life. Our funding supports essential materials, resources, and elements that enable artists to realise their vision and enrich our community.

In collaboration with The Jewish Independent, we invite professional Jewish artists, musicians, performers, writers, directors, producers, and designers to network, collaborate, and inspire each other.
